Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Bharat Pulse ("we", "us", "our"), available at this website, processes, why, for how long, and the rights you have under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it.
1. Who is responsible
Bharat Pulse is run by Sajan, who acts as the Data Fiduciary for the limited personal data described below. Contact details and the Grievance Officer are listed in section 10.
2. What we collect, and what we do not
- Contact-form messages. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, subject and message. This is the only personal data we deliberately collect.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request data such as IP address, browser type and time of visit for security, abuse prevention and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors.
- Data stored only in your browser. The site saves your preferences (last section, state, light/dark theme) and a cache of recently loaded headlines and trend snapshots in your browser's local storage. If you use X Monitor, your saved keywords, watched X accounts, keyword snapshots, Account Compare history and alerts are stored there too; they are never sent to our server except as the search or handle being looked up. If you allow browser notifications, alerts are shown by your own browser. This stays on your device; it is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
- What we do not collect. There are no user accounts, no logins, and no server-side database of visitors. We do not collect data from private social-media accounts. The posts and headlines shown come from public sources: Google News and the public X timelines of known accounts.
3. Why we use it (purpose and legal basis)
Contact-form data is processed on the basis of your consent, which you give by submitting the form, and only to read and reply to your message (DPDP Act, section 6). Technical logs are processed for the legitimate use of keeping the service secure and available. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not use it for profiling.
4. How long we keep it (retention)
- Contact-form messages: kept in our email inbox for up to 12 months after the conversation ends, then deleted, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Hosting logs: kept by the hosting provider for its standard short retention period.
- Browser storage: kept on your device until you clear it; the site automatically trims old cached data.
5. Service providers
We use a small number of processors to run the site: Cloudflare (hosting and delivery), FormSubmit (delivers contact-form messages to our inbox) and, if enabled in future, Google AdSense and an analytics tool. These providers may process data outside India under their own safeguards. We share personal data only with them, or where required by law.
6. Cookies and advertising
The site itself sets no tracking cookies. If advertising is switched on, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
7. Your rights under the DPDP Act
You may, by writing to the Grievance Officer: ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you; ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it; withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing already done); and nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.
8. Children
This website is meant for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children (under 18 under the DPDP Act). If a child has sent us a message, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security and breaches
We use HTTPS throughout and keep the data we hold to a minimum. If a personal-data breach affecting you occurs, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as required by law.
